The AH-1 Cobra is an attack helicopter manufactured by Bell.  It shares a common engine, transmission and rotor system with older UH-1.  The AH-1 was once the backbone of the US Army's attack helicopter fleet, but has been replaced by the AH-64 Apache in Army service.  Maiden flight September 7, 1965.

The AH-64 Apache is the US Army's principal attack helicopter, and is the successor to the AH-1 Cobra.  The AH-64 is powered by two General Electric T700 turboshaft engines.  The crew sits in tandem, with the pilot sitting behind and above the copilot-gunner crew carpartment.  It is armed with a 30mm M230 chain gun and carries a mixture of AFM-114 Hellfire and Hydra 70 rockets on four hard points mounted on its stub-wing pylons.  Maiden flight September 30, 1975.

The CH-53E Super Stallion is the largest and heaviest helicopter in the US military.  Sailors commonly refer to the Super Stallion as the "Hurricane Maker" because of the downward thrust the helicopter generates.  Introduced 1981.

The UH-1 Iroquois, commonly known as the "Huey", is a multi-purpose military helicopter, famous for its use in the Vietnam War.  The "U" stands for utility, in contrast to attack or cargo heicopters.  Maiden flight October 22, 1956.

The CH-47 Chinook is a versatile, twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter.  The counter-rotating rotors eliminate the need for an anti-torque vertical rotor, allowing all power to be used for lift and thrust.  Its top speed of 170 knots (196mph) was faster than utility and attack helicopters of the 1960s and even many today.  Primary roles include troop movement, artillery emplacement and battlefield resupply.  Introduction 1962.

The UH-60 Black Hawk is a medium-lift utility or assault helicopter derived from the twin-turboshaft engine, single rotor Sikorsky S-70.  The Black Hawk series of aircraft can perform a wide array of missions, including the tactical transportation of troops, electronic warfare, and aeromedical evacuation.  Maiden flight 1974.

The CH-46 Sea Knight is a medium-lift tandem rotor assault helicopter, used by the US Marine Corps to provide all-weather, day or night assault transport of combat troops, supplies and equipment.  Assault Support is its primary function, and the movement of supplies and equipment is secondary.  Maiden flight August 1962.

The OH-58 Kiowa is a family of single-engine, single-rotor, observation and light attack helicopters.  The OH-58 Kiowa has been in continuous use by the US Army since its introduction in 1969.  The latest model OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, is primarily operated in an armed reconnaissance role in support of gound troups.  Maiden flight December 8, 1962.  ** This model does not come with display stand. **

The SH-60 Seahawk is a twin turboshaft engine, mulit-mission, Unitied States Navy helicopter based on the airframe of the United States Army UH-60 Black Hawk and a member of the Sikorsky S-70 family.  Maiden flight December 12, 1979.

The MH-60 Blackhawk is capable of being armed with 30mm chain guns and 2.75 inch rockets, as well as M134D gatling guns operated as door guns.
