The AH-1 Cobra is an attack helicopter manufactured by Bell. It shares a common engine, transmission and rotor system with older UH-1. The AH-1 was once the backbone of the US Army's attack helicopter fleet, but has been replaced by the AH-64 Apache in Army service. Maiden flight September 7, 1965.
The AH-64 Apache is the US Army's principal attack helicopter, and is the successor to the AH-1 Cobra. The AH-64 is powered by two General Electric T700 turboshaft engines. The crew sits in tandem, with the pilot sitting behind and above the copilot-gunner crew carpartment. It is armed with a 30mm M230 chain gun and carries a mixture of AFM-114 Hellfire and Hydra 70 rockets on four hard points mounted on its stub-wing pylons. Maiden flight September 30, 1975.

The counter-rotating rotors eliminate the need for an anti-torque vertical rotor, allowing all power to be used for lift and thrust. Its top speed of 170 knots (196mph) was faster than utility and attack helicopters of the 1960s and even many today. Primary roles include troop movement, artillery emplacement and battlefield resupply. Introduction 1962.

The Black Hawk series of aircraft can perform a wide array of missions, including the tactical transportation of troops, electronic warfare, and aeromedical evacuation. Maiden flight 1974.

The SH-60 Seahawk is a twin turboshaft engine, mulit-mission, Unitied States Navy helicopter based on the airframe of the United States Army UH-60 Black Hawk and a member of the Sikorsky S-70 family. Maiden flight December 12, 1979.
